From the southern corner of Delaware on the Atlantic Ocean to the Delaware Bay and on up the Bay to the north; Delaware has well over a hundred miles of coastal beaches.  Most of these beaches are federally or state owned but some are available for private ownership.  The beaches of Delaware from south to north are: Fenwick Island, Bethany Beach, Indian Beach, Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, North Shores, Whiskey Beach and Henlopen Beach, which are all on the ocean and then turn the corner and go up the bay to Lewes Beach, Broadkill Beach, Primehook Beach, Fowlers Beach (no private ownership and no access), Slaughter Beach, Big Stone Beach (very little if any private ownership and being taken over by state and federal auspices for preservation),  South Bowers and a very long drive inland and back to (North) Bowers Beach, then Kitts Hummock, Port Mahon, Woodland Beach, Collins Beach, Bay View Beach, Delaware City, and New Castle (a town on the water but no beach at all).

This map, when clicked to enlarge it, will show you the most popular beaches in Delaware; Rehoboth Beach and adjacent to the south, Dewey Beach, then north of Rehoboth is Henlopen Acres, North Shores,  Whiskey Beach, Gordons Pond wildlife preserve and beach, then north to Henlopen State Park with wonderful ocean beaches and around the Cape Henlopen Point, into Breakwater Harbor at Lewes, then Lewes Beach, and Roosevelt Inlet and up to Beach Plum Island.

Here you can see the streets of Rehoboth Beach and the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk at the top and along the ocean.  Enlarge it and you can see the streets of Rehoboth.

Next to the south of the map above is the one below which shows south Rehoboth Beach and the streets leading south to and including Dewey Beach.

Here are all of the Dewey Beach streets on down to Indian Beach.  Click to go to Mapquest where you can zoom in and out. Zoom in for street details after you get to Mapquest.

To the left is Bethany Beach and the Delaware Ocean Beaches between Dewey Beach and Fenwick Island.  Click to go to Mapquest and then zoom in for streets and out for general location.

Fenwick Island is the southernmost beach in Delaware and has perhaps the best beaches.  However there is little access, unless you own an ocean front home. At the bottom of this map is the southern line of Delaware.  Below Fenwick Island is Ocean City, Maryland.  Taxes on properties in Delaware are only a fraction of what they are in Maryland.

Here you can see all of Delaware adn the major towns and cities.  Click to enlarge.

Here you can see Fenwick Island and the Inland Bays areas along with the beaches up to South Bethany Beach.  Most of these beaches are only accessible if you own a property on the beach.  Some are accessible via Four Wheel Drive 4WD, with proper equipment and special licensing from the State of Delaware.

Here the star is at Rehoboth Beach.  This map shows all of Delaware and the roads to Washington D.C. and Baltimore across the Chesapeake Bay.  Delaware is nearly an island surrounded by water.  The waters of the Atlantic Ocean to the east of Delaware and the Delaware Bay along the eastern coastal bay and the Chesapeake Bay to the west of Delaware give Delaware it's unique climate.  The climate in Delaware, because of this tempering from the waters gives us a climate similar to that of South Carolina in the southern part of the state and along the Delaware Bay!

There can be 10 to 20 degrees of difference between the temperature of Coastal Delaware and the temperature of Washington D.C.  In the winter when D.C. and Baltimore may have a foot of snow that lasts a week, we may get an inch or less that lasts an hour or two.

In the summer when temperatures reach 100 degrees in Washington D.C. and Baltimore and Philadelphia; it can be in the 70s along the beaches here and with breezes from the ocean cooling us and bringing us those valuable negative ions.
